Buxtehude – Membra Jesu Nostri 9th March 2024

Save the date! In our spring concert, we will be performing Membra Jesu Nostri by the German baroque composer Dieterich Buxtehude and Cantiones Sacrae by Heinrich Schütz. Buxtehude’s cycle of seven cantatas – a meditation on the body of Christ on the cross – is a masterpiece in beauty, hope and invention. Harmonically daring and wondrously intimate, Membra Jesu Nostri is regarded as one of the finest Passiontide works ever written. Join the English Baroque Choir as we explore this glorious narrative alongside a selection of Schütz’s Cantiones Sacrae together with Endelienta Baroque and the Arculo Consort of Viols.
